Like its predecessor, Windows Vista introduces many new features that are sometimes not so necessary, Windows 7 is intended as a gradual upgrade in the ranks of desktop operating systems, with the goal of fully compatible with applications and hardware that are supported by Windows Vista. Updates contained in Windows 7 than Vista is a redesign of the Windows Shell with the new taskbar, which is then known as SuperBar, a home networking system called HomeGroup, and many improvements made in the performance. Some applications on Windows Vista, like Windows Calendar, Windows Mail, Windows Movie Maker and Windows Photo Gallery in Windows 7 would be removed, but included as an additional course on Windows Live Essentials package is provided free of charge.

a. Windows 7 Starter Edition
Windows 7 Starter Edition is a version of Windows 7 to feature at least. Windows Aero desktop theme that was the hallmark of Windows 7 was not contained therein. Windows 7 Starter Edition is only present in 32-bit version, and do not have 64-bit versions. Desktop wallpaper also can not be replaced by the user. Therefore, this edition is only available on computers sold by OEM.
